From our first conversations with communities, we are asked how we can help keep young people living locally by providing training and work opportunities. In response to these questions, we have created our “Powering the Future” initiative. This initiative is designed to create local jobs for local people and enshrine our commitments into accountable actions.

Real Skills
During the development stages of a project, TagEnergy facilitates training and learning commitments through our suppliers, and we visit schools to build awareness of the opportunities ahead. We also work with Training Organisations to deliver recognised qualifications and with our host Contractors, provide varied on-the-ground training. In addition, we have a dedicated First Nations stream that works with communities to shape pre-apprenticeship and mentoring support.
That means by the time construction begins, the pathways into employment are already open, and they continue through to operations.
Real Careers
Powering the Future runs the full life of a project, from construction through the decades of operations. It also includes targets for First Nations people, women in trades and other underrepresented workers. We are committed to continual improvement, and to assist this our projects will have a Learning Reference Group to capture issues and ensure targets are being met.
Real Impact
Powering the Future is TagEnergy’s latest step in a track record of community benefit innovations. It’s a clear plan to deliver what communities expect from us: lasting economic opportunity for the people and towns that host our projects. Real jobs, real training, real careers. That’s the outcome of Powering the Future.
