Burdekin Battery Energy Storage System (Battery) & Solar Farm is a proposed 140 MWDC solar farm and 500 MW Battery with up to 4 hours of storage located on private land approximately 12km south-west of Clare in regional Queensland. The project will connect to a nearby 275 kV high voltage transmission line to enable power to be exported into the National Electricity Market.

The Project received Development Approval in October 2017 for a solar farm and Battery development. In March 2025, TagEnergy submitted a change application to incorporate staged construction of the BESS and solar farm, as well as a larger Battery. If approved and constructed, the remainder of the property will continue to operate as a cattle station.

The project is being developed as part of TagEnergy’s commitment to help Australia transition to a clean energy future.
